What is CVE-2026-5625?

A vulnerability has been detected in Assafelovic's GPT-Researcher up to version 3.4.3 that exposes the WebSocket Interface to potential cross-site scripting attacks. The flaw arises from improper handling of arguments in the file gpt_researcher/skills/researcher.py. By manipulating the argument 'task', an attacker can execute an XSS payload remotely, potentially compromising user data and system integrity. The vulnerability was communicated to the project team early via an issue report; however, no resolution has been reported yet.
