What is CVE-2026-57851?

The MSI Feature Manager, through its KernCoreLib64.sys kernel driver, introduces a local privilege escalation vulnerability. This flaw enables any locally authenticated user to execute arbitrary read/write operations on physical memory and conduct unrestricted I/O port operations. By exploiting exposed IOCTL handlers, attackers can manipulate kernel objects, interfere with kernel-mode callbacks, evade Protected Process Light defenses, and incapacitate security applications. This situation presents a significant risk to system integrity and security, necessitating immediate attention and remediation.

Affected Version(s)

KernCoreLib64.sys physical memory

KernCoreLib64.sys physical memory

KernCoreLib64.sys I/O ports

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
