What is CVE-2026-59157?

Webhookd, a minimalist webhook server developed by nCarlier, contained a security flaw prior to version 1.22.0 that allowed unauthenticated remote attackers to exploit the HTTP header forwarding mechanism. Specifically, the absence of htpasswd authentication meant that all incoming HTTP headers were passed into hook scripts without a proper allowlist. This enabled attackers to spoof the X-WebAuthn-User header, potentially granting them unauthorized access to resources within the application. It is crucial for users of webhookd to upgrade to version 1.22.0 to mitigate this risk.

Affected Version(s)

webhookd < 1.22
