What is CVE-2026-5952?

GitLab has addressed an authorization bypass vulnerability in GitLab CE/EE versions prior to 18.11.6, 19.0.3, and 19.1.1. This issue arises when an authenticated user with developer role permissions is able to bypass established package protection rules. The flaw is due to incorrect authorization checks, which could allow such users to overwrite protected Maven package metadata, potentially compromising the integrity of software packages managed within GitLab.
