What is CVE-2026-59645?

The OER parser in Bouncy Castle for Java versions prior to 1.85 is susceptible to a Denial of Service (DoS) attack due to its infinite recursion on self-referential IEEE 1609.2 schemas. This vulnerability extends to the Bouncy Castle for Java LTS versions earlier than 2.73.12, and to Bouncy Castle for Java FIPS (BC-FJA) versions earlier than 2.0.7 of the 2.0.X series and 2.1.7 of the 2.1.X series. Exploiting this vulnerability may lead to potential service disruption, making it crucial for users to update to the latest versions to mitigate risks.
