What is CVE-2026-61459?

The MCP Server Kubernetes is affected by an argument injection vulnerability that impacts structured tools such as kubectl_get, kubectl_describe, and kubectl_delete. This flaw allows malicious actors to bypass the security checks by using specially crafted resourceType and name parameters with leading dashes. By injecting the --server flag, attackers can redirect kubectl commands to their own server, facilitating unauthorized access to sensitive tokens and enabling a full compromise of the Kubernetes cluster.

Affected Version(s)

mcp-server-kubernetes 0 < 3.9.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
