In InvenTree, a security issue has been detected in versions prior to 1.4.0, where certain plugin settings were exposed due to a lack of appropriate authentication checks. Specifically, the endpoints for PluginSettingList, PluginAllSettingList, and PluginSettingDetail improperly set GlobalSettingsPermissions without verifying user authentication. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated users to access metadata related to plugins, including names, setting keys, and descriptions via the API, while protecting critical secret values. The issue has been addressed in version 1.4.0, underscoring the importance of keeping software updated to safeguard against unauthorized data exposure.
