Low-Privilege User Vulnerability in Wazuh Security Platform
CVE-2026-61783
7HIGH
What is CVE-2026-61783?
A vulnerability in Wazuh versions 4.14.0 through 4.14.6 allows authenticated low-privilege users to access sensitive configuration details, such as the cluster secret. The flaw arises from an issue with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) policies, where the masking of sensitive configuration values is disabled when a user has any update-config permission, regardless of whether it is explicitly denied. Consequently, a read-only account that should be limited from altering configurations finds critical information exposed when making a GET request to the configuration endpoint with specific parameters. This vulnerability has been addressed in Wazuh version 4.14.7.
Affected Version(s)
wazuh >= 4.14.0, < 4.14.7
