What is CVE-2026-62146?

A vulnerability in CRI-O’s sandbox state persistence allows attacker-manipulated pod metadata to overwrite critical bookkeeping data. This occurs when a trusted container, reloaded after a restart, can potentially expose host-side runtime-management resources within the container. This flaw creates a significant risk as it may lead to unauthorized access and control over the host system from within the container environment.
