FileRise, a self-hosted web-based file manager, has a directory traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated low-privileged users to create directories outside the intended upload directory. This issue arises from improper validation of folder names, specifically failing to reject dot-dot path segments before executing folder creation operations. As a result, a user with valid permissions can exploit this flaw using an authorized CSRF token to send POST requests to create folders in unauthorized locations.
