What is CVE-2026-63343?

Incus, a system container and virtual machine manager, has a vulnerability that allows an authenticated user to create a malicious image with a metadata.yaml symlink pointing to an arbitrary path on the host. This configuration permits the user to read or overwrite files on the host system as root through the instance metadata API. Despite previous patches addressing other paths, the metadata.yaml file remains susceptible to exploitation until updated to version 7.3.0, which resolves this critical issue.

Affected Version(s)
