What is CVE-2026-63419?

A vulnerability in OpenImageIO, a toolset for manipulating image files, allows for a heap out-of-bounds write and memory corruption. This is due to an improper handling of zbuffer-only tiled IFF images, where the 16-bit public imagespec does not align with the 32-bit internal pixel size, leading to potential security risks if partially initialized data is copied into an undersized buffer. The issues are rectified in the latest versions.
