Memory Management Flaw in Linux Kernel Affecting Device Drivers
CVE-2026-64153
What is CVE-2026-64153?
A vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel's implementation of iommu_map_sgtable(), where the function fails to properly handle return value checks. Instead of indicating errors through negative return values, the code previously utilized a WARN macro. This change not only introduces inconsistencies in error handling but also can lead to potential security issues when device drivers operate in a compromised or unexpected state. As a result, angry behaviors from affected device drivers could put systems at risk. Ensure to apply the necessary patches to mitigate this vulnerability.
