What is CVE-2026-64592?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel affects the handling of RISC-V architecture with the sfence.vma operation. The flaw occurs during unintentional recovery from a fault, where it does not ensure a safe return path if a page remains invalid. If the timing allows for a page to remain in an invalid state post-operation, it could lead to subsequent faults and potential system instability. Although such events are expected to be infrequent, they introduce a risk of performance degradation.
