CPU Resource Exhaustion Vulnerability in Next.js Framework by Vercel
CVE-2026-64641
8.2HIGH
What is CVE-2026-64641?
The Next.js framework, utilized for building robust full-stack web applications, is susceptible to a resource exhaustion vulnerability. This issue arises when specific crafted requests are directed at applications using the App Router that incorporates at least one Server Action. Such requests can result in excessive CPU usage, ultimately blocking the processing of subsequent requests within the same process. This presents a significant operational challenge for developers and users, hindering application performance and responsiveness. Resolutions for this vulnerability have been implemented in versions 15.5.21 and 16.2.11.
