What is CVE-2026-65696?

Overseerr version 1.35.0 contains a significant vulnerability within its push subscription API that allows authenticated users to bypass authorization controls. By manipulating the userId in the API path, attackers can illicitly list, view, and delete push subscriptions belonging to other users. This exploit occurs due to a lack of ownership verification in the affected API handlers, which means sensitive information—such as email addresses and plexId values—can be accessed without any restrictions. Consequently, this flaw poses a serious risk to user data integrity and confidentiality.

Affected Version(s)

overseerr 0 <= 1.35.0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
