What is CVE-2026-66921?

The Markdown node-reference renderer from Pivotick is vulnerable due to improper handling of user-controlled node names, which allows for HTML metacharacter injection. Attackers can craft malicious node names containing HTML tags and JavaScript, and when rendered in an environment that lacks adequate sanitization, such as DOMPurify, this can lead to arbitrary JavaScript execution in the user's browser. This exploit can compromise the user's session and enable unauthorized access to sensitive same-origin information or the modification of displayed content.
