What is CVE-2026-67200?

Perspective 5.0.0 is affected by a path traversal vulnerability that enables unauthenticated remote attackers to access arbitrary files on the server's filesystem. By exploiting this flaw, attackers can manipulate HTTP request URL paths, using ../ segments to escape the intended asset root directory. This vulnerability arises due to inadequate sanitization measures, specifically in handling query strings, allowing unauthorized access to sensitive information such as application secrets and system credentials. Additionally, the presence of a wildcard Access-Control-Allow-Origin header in all responses can expose the retrieved data to cross-origin requests, significantly increasing the risk of data leakage.

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
