What is CVE-2026-6843?
A vulnerability exists in the nano text editor that allows a local user to exploit a format string issue within the statusline() function. When a directory name containing printf format specifiers is created, nano attempts to display this name, which can result in a segmentation fault. This behavior creates a Denial of Service (DoS) condition for the nano application, disrupting its normal functionality and user access.
