The Glances monitoring tool has a vulnerability that affects versions prior to 4.5.6. The function GlancesActions.run() does not honor the --disable-config-exec flag, which poses a risk by allowing on-alert action commands to invoke secure_popen() with shell operators enabled. This opens avenues for potential command execution via redirections, command chaining, or pipes, triggered by alerts. Users are advised to upgrade to version 4.5.6 or later to mitigate this risk.
