What is CVE-2026-68743?

A vulnerability exists in the System Security Services Daemon (SSSD) due to improper validation of the auth_token_length field in the extract_authtok_v1() function within the PAM responder. This flaw can be exploited by a local attacker through a crafted protocol v1 request to the PAM responder socket. The result can be an out-of-bounds read, potentially leading to process crashes and service disruptions, thereby causing denial of service.
