What is CVE-2026-6940?

The radare2 tool, prior to version 6.1.4, contains a path traversal vulnerability related to project deletion. This flaw enables local attackers to exploit absolute paths, allowing for the recursive deletion of directories outside the configured project storage boundary. By manipulating the project marker file paths, an attacker can cause significant integrity and availability loss as the deletion occurs under the permissions of the radare2 process. It is crucial for users to update to the latest version to mitigate this vulnerability.
