What is CVE-2026-6942?

The radare2-mcp software, specifically version 1.6.0 and earlier, is susceptible to an os command injection vulnerability that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands. This is done by circumventing command filters through the use of shell metacharacters within user-controlled input directed at the r2_cmd_str() function. By exploiting the jsonrpc interface parameters, attackers can gain unauthorized remote code execution on systems running radare2-mcp, with no authentication required, highlighting a significant security concern.

Affected Version(s)

radare2 0 < 1.6.0

radare2 0 < 482cde6500009112a8bc0b3fa8d2ef6180581ec0

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
