Memory Corruption Vulnerability in SOEM Software by RT-Labs
CVE-2026-70388
8.3HIGH
What is CVE-2026-70388?
The SOEM software by RT-Labs, specifically version 2.0.0 and earlier, is affected by a serious vulnerability that allows a malicious device on the same network to craft specially formed messages. This flaw derives from inadequate validation of arithmetic operations on message length, enabling the software to handle negative or excessively large values incorrectly. Consequently, this can lead to data being written outside allocated memory boundaries, which may corrupt memory and open the door to arbitrary code execution on the master system. Organizations using this software are strongly encouraged to implement security measures to mitigate potential threats.
