Memory Consumption Vulnerability in iperf3 by Red Hat
CVE-2026-71218

5.3MEDIUM

What is CVE-2026-71218?

A flaw has been identified in iperf3 that permits a remote unauthenticated attacker to exploit the JSON_read() function. This function processes a peer-controlled message length, which can lead to unbounded memory allocation. The result is excessive memory consumption, causing a Denial of Service (DoS) scenario where the iperf3 service may experience severe slowdowns or even termination due to memory exhaustion.
