CVE-2026-71222
5.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-71222?
A heap out-of-bounds read vulnerability exists in gfs2-utils, where the ea_num_ptrs field from the on-disk extended attribute metadata is processed without adequate bounds validation. This flaw can lead to a heap buffer over-read, potentially disclosing sensitive memory contents or causing unexpected crashes when handling maliciously crafted GFS2 filesystem images.
