What is CVE-2026-71224?

A vulnerability exists in the gfs2-utils package, where the code in metawalk.c incorrectly utilizes alloca() with an unvalidated inode height value derived from on-disk metadata. This flaw can lead to stack exhaustion, resulting in denial of service when processing specially crafted GFS2 filesystem images.
