What is CVE-2026-71490?

OPNsense, a FreeBSD-based firewall and routing platform, has a vulnerability that allows a user with both component write privileges and user-config-readonly access to bypass the read-only restriction. This flaw occurs due to the way OPNsense handles privilege checks using a flawed parser in the hasPrivilege() method. Consequently, users may be able to persist configuration changes against components that should be restricted. This issue does not affect group privileges, as their paths properly separate comma-separated values. The flaw has been addressed in version 26.1.11.
