What is CVE-2026-71929?

Multiple models of DrayTek VigorSwitch are affected by a command injection vulnerability in the setDevProto function. This vulnerability arises due to inadequate validation of input in the username and password fields prior to executing system commands. An attacker with valid administrative credentials can exploit this vulnerability by crafting specific input that allows them to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges on the device. This puts the security of the affected systems at risk, allowing for potential unauthorized access and control.
