Access Control Flaw in Discourse Open-Source Discussion Platform
CVE-2026-72722
4.3MEDIUM
What is CVE-2026-72722?
An access control vulnerability in the Discourse discussion platform allows authenticated users to bypass restrictions on private content. Prior to the patches provided in versions 2026.1.6, 2026.5.2, 2026.6.1, and 2026.7.0, certain functions responsible for processing internal links failed to properly enforce visibility checks. As a result, users could obtain canonicalized slugs or titles from restricted topics and hidden posts, posing a risk of unauthorized information disclosure. Discourse has addressed this issue in the latest updates.
