What is CVE-2026-73090?

A significant vulnerability exists in PeerTube, an ActivityPub-federated video streaming platform. Versions prior to 8.2.2 suffer from an improper authorization issue where the functions processUpdateActivity and processUpdateVideo accept unverified ActivityPub updates containing Video objects. This flaw permits a malicious federated server to manipulate another server's video metadata, potentially altering visibility settings, media files, and HLS URLs. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to update to version 8.2.2 or later.
