What is CVE-2026-73196?
A flaw exists in FreeIPA that allows a low-privilege authenticated user to exploit the service by submitting an oversized One-Time Password (OTP) key value. This oversized key is processed without adequate size restrictions, resulting in a significant consumption of CPU and memory resources. Such misuse can ultimately lead to a denial of service, which negatively impacts the availability of the IPA service.
