What is CVE-2026-74045?

Wazuh versions prior to 4.14.8 contain a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in the fim_generate_alert() function. This issue arises when the full_log size is derived from input but is written to memory with a fixed size limit defined by OS_MAXSTR. As a result, an enrolled agent can send a specially crafted File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) syscheck event that may corrupt the heap memory of the manager and cause the wazuh-analysisd component to crash, leading to a disruption in detection capabilities across the fleet.

Affected Version(s)

wazuh-manager 3.12.0 < 4.14.8
