What is CVE-2026-74416?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Radeon driver caused a memory leak during GPU reset operations when locking mechanisms fail. Specifically, in the radeon_ring_restore() function, if radeon_ring_lock() fails, it prematurely exits without freeing the allocated backup buffer. This results in a cumulative memory exhaustion issue during repeated GPU resets, which can severely degrade system performance over time.
