What is CVE-2026-74429?

A vulnerability exists in the Linux Kernel's rxrpc implementation that affects the reception of reply packets before initiating data transmission. The flaw arises in the rxrpc_receiving_reply() function, which fails to appropriately handle a reply DATA packet received before the first request DATA packet is sent on a client call. This can lead to instability in the transmission process, potentially causing exceptions during the operation of the tx window management. A fix has been implemented to improve the handling of packet reception and ensure that the transmission queue is processed correctly, even in cases where an early reply disrupts normal operations.
