What is CVE-2026-74877?

The OpenSSL Encrypt library prior to version 1.4.0 contains a vulnerability in the revoke_key method that fails to properly verify ownership. This flaw permits authenticated clients to revoke any other client's key, using a valid ML-DSA signature. The lack of adequate checks allows attackers to compromise the integrity of key management by arbitrarily revoking keys, which could severely impact the security of systems relying on this functionality.
