What is CVE-2026-7608?

A significant vulnerability has been identified in the TRENDnet TEW-821DAP router models operating on firmware version 1.12B01. This vulnerability occurs in the tools_diagnostic function, which is susceptible to OS command injection. This allows attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the affected system. Notably, the firmware version is no longer supported by TRENDnet, as the hardware for this version (v1.xR) was discontinued eight years ago. Consequently, no security patches or solutions will be provided for users of this outdated product, leaving them vulnerable to potential exploitation.

Affected Version(s)

TEW-821DAP 1.12B01

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
