What is CVE-2026-76359?

In versions prior to 8.6.0 of Splunk SOAR, a security flaw allows users with administrative privileges to exploit the Universal Forwarder installer's archive extraction process. This flaw may lead to unauthorized file writes outside the designated installation directory due to a lack of verification during the extraction workflow. As a result, the extraction process does not ensure that files remain within their intended location, potentially compromising the system's integrity.
