What is CVE-2026-76403?

In versions of Splunk Connect for Kafka prior to 2.2.7, an unauthenticated user on the network path can potentially read or modify data transmitted through the connector. This vulnerability arises from the Kerberos authentication process, which fails to enforce the appropriate certificate validation options during the HTTP client setup. As a result, sensitive data may be exposed or altered, compromising the integrity of data sent from the connector to Splunk Enterprise when utilizing the HTTP Event Collector.
