What is CVE-2026-76898?

draw.io, the diagramming and whiteboarding application, has a vulnerability in its URL sanitization process prior to version 30.3.8. The application fails to block certain IPv6 Unique Local Addresses (ULAs) due to the Java Development Kit (JDK) expanding the address form. This oversight allows an unauthenticated request to access /embed2.js?fetch= and potentially retrieve internal resources, including cloud metadata and sensitive data from accessible internal services over IPv6. This risk is exacerbated by the application’s validation method, which also applies to a separate proxy servlet path. The vulnerability has been addressed and fixed in version 30.3.8, and users are urged to upgrade to safeguard against possible exploitation.
