What is CVE-2026-77384?

The libp2p JavaScript implementation is exposed to a denial of service vulnerability due to improper handling of the reservation refresh mechanism in reservation-store.ts prior to version 4.2.9. An attacker can exploit this by sending multiple valid RESERVE requests for the same reservation, leading to unbounded listener and closure growth on the @libp2p/circuit-relay-v2 relay servers. This behavior can interfere with service availability and degrade performance, affecting overall network operations. Users are advised to update to version 4.2.9 or later to mitigate this issue.

Affected Version(s)

js-libp2p >= 2.1.5, < 4.2.9
