What is CVE-2026-78379?

The python_repl tool in Amazon Strands Agents Tools prior to version 0.8.5 suffers from improper handling of LLM prompting inputs, which may allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary Python code on the host system. This can be achieved by exploiting a bypass in the human consent gate, utilizing a crafted prompt with the non_interactive_mode keyword argument, thus compromising the integrity of the agent's host environment. To mitigate this vulnerability, it is recommended that users upgrade to version 0.8.5 or later.
