What is CVE-2026-79708?

An issue has been identified in GitLab EE where authenticated users with developer permissions could potentially exploit insufficient scope validation. This vulnerability allows such users to execute policy test pipelines within their projects and gain access to protected CI/CD variables that are normally restricted to higher-privileged roles. This could lead to unauthorized manipulation and exposure of sensitive information within the development environment. GitLab has addressed this issue in versions 19.1.8, 19.2.6, and 19.3.2.
