What is CVE-2026-80344?

A Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability exists within the Apache Camel AS2 component, allowing an attacker to exploit a misconfiguration in message handling. Specifically, when sending a Message Disposition Notification (MDN), the AS2 component would take the destination address directly from the inbound message without any validation against permitted configurations. As a result, an attacker could manipulate the MDN delivery to direct requests to unauthorized internal hosts, potentially exposing sensitive data or system credentials. It is crucial for users to upgrade to Apache Camel version 4.23.0, or 4.18.5 for the LTS releases, to mitigate this risk. Users unable to immediately upgrade should implement measures to restrict outbound connectivity of the AS2 receiver to only trusted partners.

Affected Version(s)

Apache Camel 4.0.0 < 4.18.5

Apache Camel 4.19.0 < 4.22.1

Apache Camel 4.18.5
