What is CVE-2026-80567?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's Synaptics RMI4 component allows for improper error handling of worker thread failures. The rmi_f54_buffer_queue function inadvertently accepted stale or uninitialized memory as valid, due to a lack of proper error reporting from the worker thread. By adding a 'report_error' field to the f54_data struct, this issue has been addressed, allowing the queue to properly identify and handle errors, thereby enhancing memory safety and system reliability.
