What is CVE-2026-80866?

A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's TIPC network communication component leads to inefficient busy-wait looping. The introduced busy-wait can prolong CPU cycles waste, especially when the exit of the network namespace is triggered by high-priority tasks or in kernels without preemption. This results in potential soft lockups, negatively affecting system performance. The fix improves the cleanup process for pending UDP bearer works, allowing threads to sleep appropriately using wait_var_event() instead.
