What is CVE-2026-80910?

A vulnerability exists in the Linux kernel affecting the ASoC codecs, particularly related to the access of enum kcontrols. The issue arises when the controls known as 'EAR SPKR PA Gain' and the 'WSA RX* Mux' fail to correctly access their respective values. Instead of utilizing the appropriate method for enumerated types, the callbacks erroneously access the values using a long integer approach. This inconsistency leads to problems, particularly on 64-bit kernels configured with CONFIG_SND_CTL_DEBUG, where it triggers a sanity check failure, resulting in every read attempt returning an error. This flaw was previously addressed in related drivers but was overlooked in the wsa-macro driver, highlighting a critical oversight that can affect system stability and performance.
