Log Storage Exhaustion in MongoDB Connector for BI by MongoDB
CVE-2026-81517
8.7HIGH
What is CVE-2026-81517?
An unauthenticated attacker can exploit a vulnerability in the MongoDB Connector for BI by generating excessive connection log activity. This overloads the storage designated for log files, leading to failures in log writing and rotation operations. As a result, the shared mongosqld process crashes, impacting all connected SQL clients. The issue persists with repeated attempts to restart the process until the storage is restored by an administrator. Notably, the system does not record diagnostic information about the issue, complicating recovery efforts.
