What is CVE-2026-82286?

The gpt-crawler, up to version 1.5.1, contains a significant flaw in its handling of the outputFileName parameter in the POST /crawl endpoint. This vulnerability permits unauthenticated users to write arbitrary files to any location within the filesystem. By providing carefully crafted input that includes absolute paths or parent directory traversal segments, attackers can overwrite existing files with content retrieved from attacker-controlled URLs. This poses a serious security risk as it can lead to unauthorized file manipulation and potential system compromise.

Affected Version(s)

gpt-crawler 0 <= 1.5.1

Exploit Proof of Concept (PoC)

PoC code is written by security researchers to demonstrate the vulnerability can be exploited. PoC code is also a key component for weaponization which could lead to ransomware.
