What is CVE-2026-84801?

Earlier versions of Craft CMS, specifically those prior to 5.10.11, exhibit a security flaw that fails to properly validate the admin status for users in the actionGetPasswordResetUrl endpoint. This vulnerability permits non-admin users who possess the administrateUsers permission to generate password reset URLs for any administrator account. Attackers can exploit this weakness to obtain a valid reset URL and change the password of admin accounts via the actionSetPassword, which only verifies the code without confirming the session of the requester. Consequently, this could lead to unauthorized access and potential takeover of the Craft CMS control panel.

Affected Version(s)
